Rhode Island Out Paces Iona 80-69

The Rhody "bench" (led by Terrence Mack 10 points) scored 38 points to lead the team to victory over Iona. Rhode Island scored 31 first half points and 49 second half points. Rhode Island had a fifteen point first half lead that dwindled to only two points by half time. Iona took a brief one point lead early in the second half but then Rhode Island went on a scoring tear that brought the score to 80-59 with about a minute and a half remaining. Iona used the rest of the quarter to pick up 10 more points on missed Rhode Island free throws, turnovers, and foul points. Steve Burit lead Iona with 24 points. Dustin Hallenga lead Rhode Island with 16 points and 5 rebounds. (28 minutes). Also, Chris Holm had 6 rebounds and 7 points, and Jamaal Wise had 7 rebounds and 9 points. RI moves to a 9-2 record.
